• Viscoelastic deformation example: At the top, sinusoidal loading in y-direction with frequency = 100Hz. Domain is 100mm x 50mm.

• Viscoelastic deformation example on an asphalt mixture: At the top, sinusoidal loading in y-direction with frequency = 10Hz. Domain is 100mm x 68mm. The mastic (the stuff between the aggregates) is assumed to be a viscoelastic material. The aggregates are assumed to be rigid and move as a whole. No air voids. Bottom two graphs are the shear stress (sigma xy) and normal stress (sigma xx,yy) computed for each pixel.
